Jasper is 6 months old

I don't know where the time has gone. I feel bad I haven't been updating but Jasper has been keeping me pretty busy. We just went to his doctor appointment for his check up. He weighs 15lbs 14.5oz and 28inches long. He got a couple shots and did very well.

So Jasper can say mom, momma, dada, hi, hello, and hey. He can sit up on his own. He is able to roll in both directions. He is trying to get up off the floor now looks  like he is doing crunches. He is a pretty happy baby. He takes two big naps a day with a couple cat naps thrown in. He generally sleeps through the night unless he has a wet diaper.

We are still breastfeeding. I'm making his baby food too. He so far like banana, avocado, green beans, butternut squash and sweet potato. He is a very good eater and fully enjoys food and says MmmMmM the whole time.

We are still cloth diapering! I don't see that ending at all I really like it. Anytime we put him in disposables he is cranky. You can just tell he doesn't like them at all. He doesn't get diaper rash with them either. I haven't tried many brands but I do really like Kawaii Diapers. They are cheap and work great.

I'm looking forward to Jasper's first Christmas. We did Christmas pictures this year. It was great and I now get to have a great keepsake from getting them done. There isn't to much more to update. I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Jasper is over 3 months already.. Plus how Cloth diapering is going.

It's hard to believe Jasper is over 3 months already. I wish I could freeze time he is growing so fast. He is in 3-6 month clothing. I have no idea how big he is right now but we will find out next month at his 4 month appointment. He still is colicky and now teething.

He still isn't sleeping at night sleeps 2 hours at a time and fits nap time during the day. We are still breastfeeding so I'm half way to my goal of 6 months! He isn't wanting to take a bottle most of the time which stinks because I'd like a break but I'm happy that he is doing well.



He is talking non stop and smiling all the time. He is such a flirt and always flashing his dimples at everyone. I'm going to be in trouble with him when he gets older. He also has a super serious face sometimes to. He sure has his own little personality already.

I love him to pieces and I feel so blessed to be his mommy! He loves playing on his Kick N' Play gym. Some of his favorite things are Sophie the giraffe teething toy, an elephant blanket toy, a ducky toy his blue puppy stuffed toy.

He loves sitting up in his Bumbo and standing while mommy and daddy hold him. He still isn't a fan of leaving the house and tends to get crankier easier. Though he is amazing in the car. He loves looking out the window or looking at himself in the mirror. He also falls a sleep normally pretty fast in his carseat.

We are also cloth diapering and I really like it. I feel like Jasper also likes cloth diapers over regular diapers. Yes it is more work because I'm washing diapers every other day but to me it is worth it. I feel good knowing I'm not throwing my money away. We have 44 cloth diapers snaps and velcro ones. I found so far Kawaii Diapers have been my favorite. They are a great price and work amazing. My husband is even on board and told me he likes the Velcro diapers over disposable.We have been doing cloth diapers for a few weeks now.

 It was always my goal to do cloth diapers I had them the whole time but we got a lot of disposable diapers at the shower which was great because when he was a newborn I could focus on him and not have to worry about cleaning diapers. I was so thankful for that. I placed a few pictures of some of my diapers. My diaspers start at 8lbs and go up to 36lbs so they will be used for a while. I know they will save us a lot of money. I also like to knowing my son wont have chemicals all over him. Plus they are super cute and soft. I'd say it is a win win.

The longest process was prepping them. You have to wash them a lot but once they are prepped you are ready to go. They are super easy to wash. I just wash them in warm water not hot water temp cant be over 93 degrees and with Dreft. Then I just put them on a drying rack. If they have stains I put them out in the sun and the stain comes right out! So easy! Putting the inserts in takes sometime so I do it while Jasper is napping..

Anyways sorry my post turned into cloth diaper land but I really enjoy it! I'm one proud cloth diapering momma! :) Anyways I will post a few more photos of Jasper and family photos and maybe another video or two of him!

Jasper is already over 2 months old

So sorry it has been a while since I have last wrote. So at around 2 weeks Colic started and it hasn't been an easy road with it. He wouldn't sleep in either of his bassinets and would scream all time long. My parents ended up letting us borrow a side to side swing and he now sleeps in that. At his one month appointment he weighed 10lbs and was 22inches long. Crazy to think he was 6lbs 9oz when he was born and 20 inches long.

At his two month appointment he was 11lbs 13.5oz and 23 1/2 inches long. So he is growing quick. He is so alert now. He loves holding his toys, touching faces and playing his kick n' play piano. He is also getting really good at holding his head up. He also noticed the tv now too. He is a very happy baby generally and loves being held. He is a momma's boy already. He loves taking baths and talking to his bath toys.

I feel so blessed to be his mother. Being a mom is one of the most amazing things to have ever happened to me. It's not easy but it is so worth it all. I look forward to his colic fully being gone. It's hard listening to your child scream when there is nothing you can do to help them or make them feel better.

His first two months of life have flown by and I can't believe how much he has grown and changed. I know in the blink of an eye he will be all grown up. I will cherish the sweet moments I have with him. The smiles, giggles and baby talk are the best.

The Birth of Jasper

On June 5th I went to the hospital for my doctor's appointments. First appointment I had to go to was my ultrasound where they checked the fluid and everything. They measured the baby and told me he was measuring small for 40 weeks and 5 days.

I then went upstairs for my NST to check on the baby. During testing he wasn't moving much and his heart rate wasn't doing what it was suppose to it was on the lower side too. So they gave me apple juice to see if it would get him moving and it didn't do much at all.

After that I had to go to my Ob appointment where my blood pressure was crazy high. At this point to I was having blurry vision and terrible headaches. I had preeclampsia So with the baby meausring small, low heart rate and preeclampsia they decided to induce me.

So I headed to the 2nd floor to labor and delivery. They hooked me up to the monitors only to find out I was already in labor with contractions already about 5 minutes apart or so. So they went to start my pitocin and out of nowhere all these nurses and doctors came in. His heart rate dropped like crazy I had to flip from side to side and have oxygen to try and get it back up. This continued for a while and they were worried with the heart rate dropping like it was I would need a c section.

So they started pitocin.. Oh I forgot to say I was at 3cm when I went up to labor and delivery. For a few hours I made no progress so they broke my water. Not long after I went to 4cm.. I wanted to do a natural labor but I was in a full body Flare from my RSD and Fibro and I couldn't handle the amount of pain I was in. They gave me some medicine until I could get an epidural.

So once I got my epidural I went to sleep for about 45 minutes.. Until I felt like I needed to go to the bathroom. I told the nurse and she told me that she didn't think I needed to go to the bathroom and that she thought I was ready to push. She checked me and I was at 10cm. So in 45minutes I went from 4cm to 10cm just like that.. They had to call my doctor mind you she went home so I had to wait for her.

All I wanted to do was push and they told me I couldn't. It was so hard not to. My body just kept trying to push. About 15-20 minutes my doctor showed up and it was time to push. I started to push and the baby's heart rate dropped.. This went on the entire time I was pushing so they had to make me stop pushing a lot of times which was hard.. They told me the head was coming out and let me feel his head it was wonderful.

15 minutes of pushing with stopping due to heart rate dropping and Jasper was born into the world on June 6th at 12:59am. His cord was wrapped several times tightly around his neck. This is why his heart rate kept dropping. Thankfully they got it off pretty quick and he was healthy!

The nurses couldn't believe this was my first delivery because of how calm I was. I didn't make a sound while pushing I just did what I had to do it came so natural to me. Seeing my son for the first time was the most amazing moment of my life. My husband and I are so blessed to have him.

He weighed 6lbs 9oz and was 20 inches long. He was on the small side for being almost 41 weeks but I was also a small baby at over 40 weeks when I was born. I feel lucky to have had such a fast labor. In total I was in labor for under 10 hours.

This is going to be short and sweet I will write a better blog post when I can.. Jasper was born on June 6th at 12:59am weighing 6lbs 9oz and was 20inches long. I made it to 40 weeks and 6 days by the time he was born. <3
